Is Google getting Google mobile tested?

December 13th, 2009

With the increasing demand for smartphones, it was just a matter of time for the internet giant Google to venture into the mobile market. Android started making ways from the first day of its launch and got the speculation started whether Google would soon come up with its mobile soon.

In its blog yesterday, Google announced that this holiday season the employees would be testing a new phone running on android for with new features and capabilities. Though they haven’t provided much details on the device and the software, they mentioned that the hardware was built by a partner.

We recently came up with the concept of a mobile lab, which is a device that combines innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new mobile features and capabilities, and we shared this device with Google employees across the globe. This means they get to test out a new technology and help improve it.

If the phones tested currently are the much speculated Google phones, the new year is going to bring some tough competition in the world of smart phones. This would bring Google into direct competition with Apple and we’d love to see someone moving iPhone from its current position.
