Samsung Launches Wave- the First Smart Phone With Bada

Last year end Samsung had drawn a lot of attention when it unveiled its smartphone platform Bada. The open and configurable platform had given the developer society a new scope to experiment with applications. The first phone by Samsung with Bada platform, Samsung Wave was unveiled yesterday in Barcelona just a day before the Mobile World Congress starts.

The phone is all set to go on sale in April though the it is still unknown where the first launch would be. The touch screen phone that highly resembles an iPhone  features high-resolution screen usingorganic light emitting diodes, or OLEDs

Samsung so far had mobiles running on other operating system and most of its phone are backed by Nokia’ symbian. With its own smart phone platform, Samsung will be in the same league as Apple, RIM etc. Samsung is the largest phone maker in US but the smart phone market is still dominated by iPhone and Blackberry. The new move is sure to give Samsung an advantage and the TouchWiz system which is used on the touch screen of its regular phones will be used in the smartphone platform as well giving it an edge over its competitors.

The price of the phone remain unknown.
